UPCOMING PROGRAM:

Strength & Conditioning

  • Every session is designed with one goal in mind: improving athletic performance. By analyzing each athlete’s strengths and areas for growth, we create off-field training that enhances speed, power, agility, and endurance. Every drill and exercise is purposeful, ensuring that time spent in the gym directly translates to smarter, faster, and more effective performance in any sport or competition.

  • At Aspiring Athlete, we cultivate a high-performance, positive environment where athletes are inspired to push past limits and discover what they are truly capable of. Our programs combine strength, agility, and mental training to help athletes develop not just physical power, but the resilience, focus, and work ethic required to succeed at the next level in any sport.

  • Training is led by Coach Maleki Harris, a former Division 1 athlete and five-year CFL linebacker. His approach is unlike any other in the area — he pushes athletes to their limits every time they step through the door, ensuring they get stronger, faster, and more prepared for competition.

Led by former Division 1 and CFL Athlete

Coach Harris is a South Alabama Football alumnus and five-year CFL linebacker who overcame being considered undersized through speed, agility, strength, and relentless work ethic. He began training at an elite level from a young age in the U.S., where high-performance sports programs emphasize proper movement mechanics, progressive strength development, and discipline long before athletes reach high school. By age 13, athletes were already mastering athletic movements, landing mechanics, and foundational strength work, gradually progressing to heavier loads and more complex training as they matured.

After spending nearly four years in BC, Coach Harris has noticed a significant gap in athletes’ physical preparation. Many consider themselves high-performance, yet they transition from casual summer training—like playing beach volleyball a few times a week—to rigorous school seasons, expecting their bodies to handle the increased load without structured preparation. Essential elements such as movement patterns, gym discipline, and progressive physical development are often overlooked. Without actively building strength and muscle off the field or court, simply filling schedules with practices and games will limit potential, gradually deteriorate the body, and significantly increase the risk of overuse injuries. The solution isn’t doing less—it’s doing more, in a smarter, structured way, to strengthen the body, protect joints, and improve long-term performance.

Passionate about helping athletes of all sizes and skill levels reach their full potential, Coach Harris emphasizes training like an elite competitor. In our gym, athletes focus on proper movement mechanics, disciplined lifting, and challenging strength work to build both physical power and mental resilience. His approach ensures every athlete maximizes their strengths, addresses weaknesses, and translates hard work into measurable results—on the court, field, and in competition.
