FAQs
Can anyone register for your camps?
1
Not quite! Our camps are open to all Division 1 and Division 2 club athletes and are designed to introduce athletes to our coaching philosophy, training environment, and development pathway. We run seasonal camps throughout the year to provide more athletes across British Columbia with the opportunity to learn from our nationally respected coaching staff, develop their skills, and train in a focused, high-expectation environment. Athletes that are competing below this level or that are newer to the game, must complete our online application form before registering to ensure the camp is an appropriate fit.
2
What are your invite-only programs?
Our Invite-Only Programs are designed to create a high-performance environment where identified athletes can learn, compete, and grow alongside other motivated athletes. Athletes are selected through our application process, camps, coach evaluations, and scouting throughout local school and club competitions. These programs provide opportunities to develop individual skills, volleyball IQ, and overall game understanding outside of the club and school seasons while training consistently in a small-group environment. Our goal is to create a training atmosphere with expectations similar to the post-secondary level, helping athletes develop the habits, accountability, discipline, and mindset required to succeed at the university level and beyond.
What makes you different?
3
At Aspiring Athlete, we prioritize quality over quantity. We genuinely care about our athletes and their long-term development, which is why our programs are exclusive and application based—we do not simply accept anyone who wants to register. By identifying athletes through scouting, evaluations, camps, and our application process, we create a unique high-performance environment filled with motivated athletes who are committed to improving. Unlike many camps and programs, we intentionally keep our training groups small, with a maximum of two courts and a coach-to-athlete ratio of approximately 1:8, allowing our nationally respected coaching staff to provide meaningful feedback, individualized attention, and a higher level of coaching.
How do we get started?
4
The best way to get started is by completing our online athlete application. We use this information to determine which camps, clinics, and programs may be the best fit for your athlete's age, skill level, experience, and goals. Once programs are launched, eligible athletes and families will be contacted with additional information and registration opportunities. Families are always welcome to reach out with questions, but if an athlete has not yet completed an application, we will typically direct them to do so first in order to provide the most accurate recommendations.
5
What happens if I register and it’s not the right fit?
This happens more often than people think. Evaluating athletes through applications, video footage, or limited observations is never as reliable as seeing them train and compete in person. If, after the first session, we feel an athlete is significantly more advanced than the group or not yet ready for the training environment, we will contact the family to discuss alternative options. While we recognize the benefits of athletes training above their current level, our priority is the quality of the training environment as a whole. We typically only place athletes in older or more advanced groups when they are consistently outperforming their current competition and have clearly demonstrated that they are ready for the challenge. Our goal is to ensure every athlete is placed in an environment where they can learn, contribute, and develop successfully.
Our mission is to develop confident, high-performing volleyball athletes.
We provide everything you need to take your game to the next level through consistent, high-quality training and exceptional mentorship, because we believe sustained excellence comes from the right guidance, environment, and attention to detail.
We are routed in Surrey.
But we offer programs and camps across the Lower Mainland year-round! Please check each program listing for specific locations.
